I am a chef/cake decorator/photographer/fashion designer. I had a tough time choosing which direction I was headed in life; I have enjoyed it all, but continue to return to food.
Carbs run my life. That will never change. I have given up on trying. Just accept.
I grew up having both my Moroccan and Israeli grandmothers shoving food in my mouth whether I wanted it or not. I do the same to others now. Food is love and creativity.
Out of high school, I studied Film/Television and Photography at NYU, Tisch, before I decided that food was my real calling (a Fine Cooking magazine was the catalyst). After gaining 30 pounds at The French Culinary Institute in New York City, I knew that I loved cooking, and, of course, eating. I spent the next two years studying fashion, but that was but a hiccup in my path of food love.
I take great pleasure in cooking from others' recipes and writing my own. As an artist, I am always inspired to create - whether it's food, decorating, painting, photos or drawing, but mostly, at the end of the day, it's food.
